So this wasn't actually ever intended to be a blog post!. But due to the number of messages i have received asking which items i was wearing in the original photo and if i could please do a formal post with them itemized i did (it was about people of color being asked to cut/alter/"fix" our hair, and people randomly touching our hair as though we are objects) and at the time i happened to be listening to that song by Solange as well (Don't touch my hair) I understand that when i make these sort of statements, a lot of people don't understand or appreciate them and that is fine, because as the artist i DO. Finding your Christmas Spirit, and turning your frown upside down...

This photo is actually dedicated to my true dislike of Christmas. Who could possibly hate Christmas you ask? well me, but for good reason at least i think. My grandmother raised me, and she was always sort of the center of me and my siblings lives, and we would sort of go out of our way to get her things after a certain point, because it wasn't ever really so much about what we got. we just really liked watching her open her gifts.  She passed away pretty tragically back in 2006, and ever since, when this time of year rolls around, i just don't want to really participate, because it just really isn't the same. i know it's a bit much and of course it's been long enough to have gotten over it( i have) but i just haven't really found anything that gives me that warm feeling i used to have like that did. so i still hate Christmas, sadly.


This little mime, had lost her Christmas spirit as well, and couldn't seem to find a way to fill her heart at all with any joy whatsoever... In her hand fell a wee snowflake, and she marveled at the beauty of it, the intricate ice crystals, simplicity and wonder of something so small and yet it could be so amazing. it began to glow and become even more beautiful and as it did she began to think about the little things, and decided those would be the things that brought her cheer. the sad mime's frown was now turned upside down, and she did indeed find her joy after all!.. Do you think perhaps if i am very lucky, i will find mine as well?  Happy Holidays nonetheless, and i hope you all like the pic!, run on over to Anthem and grab those gifties under the tree, they're at a lovely price!

Let's ramble a bit shall we!?
This one was fun! it's been a while since i got to really play with artsy things like this and Moonshine always brings me something lovely to play with of course! This makeup comes to us from a gacha set with the charming moniker of " La vie en France" and all of the individual styles contained inside are absolutely striking and to die for i must say. Of course Michan always has THE most fabulous lashes(they're my fave on the grid!) and Egozy, with this amazing skin that i've fallen madly for.  i was craving to do something different and very "me." Not to say all of my other posts aren't very very me. they most certainly are. but art is the very heart of me, and i wanted to just be free and do whatever came to mind and this one was an homage to the sprouting of new ideas and concepts and blooming with possibility in whatever way that comes.

I've been struggling for a bit with finding a resting place for my own certain style and so i bounce around a LOT and just lately, on the very very good advice of someone very wise and lovely. i have taken some time to really pay much more attention to detail and see what it is that makes my photos and posts synonymous with myself when someone looks at them. Now i've got quite a long way to go, but i finally feel like i'm on the right track with something and am no longer just sort of tossing things out madly and feeling lost. This is progress!
